There are three ways to discover the enchantment of the island; by the sea with a craft, on foot through different routes or by car.
There aren’t taxis in the island and so it will be good to have your own car or to rent one from Lemnos. Daily, there is a ferry-boat transit from Lemnos to Agios Efstratios, but also from other ports. A rural network of about 50km of passable earth-roads leads to various directions, in order to discover the island’s beauties.
If you come by craft, have a supply in the picturesque small port and then start for the tour of the island. Stops at the most trackless beaches and deep plunges will remain unforgettable to you. You won’t need a compass. Just let yourself in hidden surprises of every turn.
Don’t lose a walk easterly, in order to visit some of the remains of Mycenaean era, which were preserved till Roman and Byzantine era.
