Atsikis
At the central plain of the island and 22km away from Myrina, towards the airport, there is one of the most ancient and rich villages of Lemnos. Atsiki, which was built on a fertile and great plain, constitutes the capital of the homonymous municipality. It is said that its name derives from the paraphrase of Attiki. This beautiful great village has the greatest church tower in the island, at the church of Saint Georgios.

N. Koutalis
After beautiful Nevgatis, the road leads to the picturesque great village Kontias, capital of the Municipality of Nea Koutali, which is one of the most beautiful in Greece. It is built over the wooded hill of Saint Athanasios with perennial pine-trees and it has to show wonderful houses of urban architecture-stone or plaster-, mainly its oldest part, which preserves solid its traditional color, with marble stairs, marvelous wooden doors, sweet-smelling gardens and great balconies.

Moydroy
Assuming that Myrina is the cosmopolitan area of Lemnos, then Moudros has its own specific characteristics, based on its preferential position. A lounging atmosphere is diffused around its picturesque port, which is indicated mainly for an afternoon laziness. Here, prepare your photographic camera and take position at the oldest castle of Lemnos, which is built high on a hill.

Community of Agios Eustratios
There are three ways to discover the enchantment of the island; by the sea with a craft, on foot through different routes or by car.
There aren’t taxis in the island and so it will be good to have your own car or to rent one from Lemnos. Daily, there is a ferry-boat transit from Lemnos to Agios Efstratios, but also from other ports. A rural network of about 50km of passable earth-roads leads to various directions, in order to discover the island’s beauties.

Myrinas
The heart of Lemnos beats in its capital, the idyllic Myrina, which lies between two creeks: the cosmopolitan Romeikos (Greek) Seashore and Turkish Seashore or Port, which is washed by the sea of Nea Madytos and surrounded by the commercial and Venetian port. As capital of the island, it had already started to flourish since Turkish domination. So, Turkish garrison and families of Turks were living nearby the fort –that’s why it is called Turkish Seashore. The other side of the castle, which was settled by Greeks, around the Cathedral and their church, was called Romeikos Seashore.
